Sharon is a great professional, extremely well organized and knowledgeable. I was amazed at her knowledge of the female reproductive system and associated clinical and birthing/postnatal protocols, despite not being a professional nurse/midwife. Sharon displayed great emotional and cultural intelligence, and made the multicultural or diverse class livelier than I expected. Course pace was carefully structured to meet my individual speed, and I believe no matter how slow a learner anyone is, they`d flow through this course in seamless fashion. We took Sharon's four-hour "Labor Your Way" class via Zoom and found it to be excellent! I appreciated her candor and straightforward approach, including all the tactical pain management and coping strategies she shared. This felt like an excellent, efficient way to get the information we needed in advance of our little one's birth.

Highly recommend taking a training with Sharon! Honestly I feel so prepared to take on my doula rol, she gave us a lot of insight, knowledge and tools on how to become successful doulas to our clients. Update: I completed her Birth Doula classes and I am so happy I did this!! She has been an amazing teacher from beginning to end. She is thoroughly, heart warming, real, easy to engage & interact in her class. The one thing that stood out to me the most of how much she put into going over the HARD topics like fetal death, maternal death in black women, how to treat someone if they are in the LGBTQIA+ community. Thank you Sharon! Had a lactation workshop today, it was one of the most fun, interactive, safe space to learn I have had a long while. I will be taking her birth classes coming up next week. I am so excited to be in this class. She is so knowledgeable, fun, sweet and just overall an amazing teacher. Thank you Sharon can't wait for the next set of classes!

I cannot recommend this Lamaze training class enough! I took Sharon's class for my preparation of the LCCE, and the class provided me with core elements/topics of Lamaze childbirth education and strategies that I could use for my further teaching. Sharon was incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and inspiring. She has been a constant source of support of my journey of becoming a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator.

I recently took part in Sharon's 4 day doula training workshop and follow up lactation class. What a great experience! In just 4.5 days Sharon was able to fully give us the keys to see ourselves as capable doulas across many situations.  By really emphasizing that the main aspect of a doula's role is to be there for their clients, to help them know their choices, to help amplify their voices and follow their leads, Sharon showed us how our mere presence as listener, supporter and advocate can make a big and beneficial difference at such a pivotal moment. The course covered so much - from cultural humility and awareness to prenatal care and birth planning to understanding many aspects of labor and birth to postpartum support to being there for clients grieving from overwhelm, disappointment or loss. The panels with guest doulas from across the country with various specialities and backgrounds were particularly wonderful and inspiring. My fellow classmates were also each so very inspiring. Sharon helped to create an open hearted and open minded space in which we could hear each other and share.  And on the practical side, the course covered the nuts and bolts of launching a doula practice - marketing, building a resource base, contracts, payment and to top it off, Sharon continues to make herself available with office hours and mentoring as we progress on our doula path. The workshop exceeded my expectations and further affirmed for me that the path of a doula is one I want to start and tread.

Sharon's class is part labor/birth prep and part patient/self advocacy. You don't have to be medically versed to ask your care team for more information or decline their suggestions or receive reassuring support. I was skeptical about doing this class online but found that practicing labor positions in the comfort of my home (where I might actually be laboring) was far superior than doing it in an onsite classroom surrounded by a bunch of strangers (who are now a supportive texting community sharing resources). Sharon keeps it super real, funny, engaging, and always always data-driven. She approaches birth from a gender-neutral and judgement-free perspective, allowing for a diversity of birthing people, families, and beliefs to be welcome. Her use of online classroom tools is unmatched! Could not recommend this class highly enough.

I took Sharon's early pregnancy class virtually in May, and it was a super helpful way to get my bearings and to feel more prepared about having a baby. Sharon has tons of experience and offered so many resources, and since the class was small, we got lots of individual attention and support. Sharon's childbirth course took us through diverse labor and delivery concepts that we would not have covered without her BBYW course (birth positions, cpr, child seat safety, post baby delivery care, breastfeeding, medical decision-making). My partner and I looked forward to spending 2.5 hours each week with her, and felt more prepared for our first birth after every session. Sharon has incredible bedside manner, is extremely knowledgeable and imparts her technical knowledge in an impartial, judgement-free environment. She encourages students to come together to learn and enter parent hood as a community (whatsapp groups, online video collaboration) and truly cares for each and every one of her course participants.
