TENS IN THE TOOLBOX WORKSHOP

Advanced Doula and Perinatal Professional Workshop

tens for sale and for doulas training

A TENS unit is a great addition to your doula skill set and will increase client satisfaction and reduce pain, quickly becoming one of your favorite methods for helping your clients cope and handle childbirth pain, especially that dreaded back labor!

A TENS unit (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) is a common tool long used to help with the pain of childbirth across Europe. Learn how to add this tool/skill to your doula/L&D/Midwifery toolbox and help your clients to reduce labor pain, especially the agonizing pain of back labor.

Obstetric TENS has been found to be an effective technique for pain control in over 80 percent of births. Many studies have been done in Europe with marked success, especially for back pain in labor.  This workshop includes information on the most current studies on TENS in labor and a full bibliography is provided.

This class is open to any trained doula from any organization, (you do NOT have to be certified) or any health care provider, (midwives, doctors, L&D nurses or students).  Be fully prepared to safely implement a TENS unit as part of your practice immediately after the workshop.

You do not need to have a TENS unit to take this workshop.

Sharon Muza Review

"Learning from Sharon Muza is always a blast but it would be fair to say that this class gave us all a special buzz. Learning to support people using TENS from one of Seattle's most experienced doulas was a real gift. Sharon made the class fun and I feel more prepared to support my next client (and myself.)"

DAVID GOLDMAN, CBE + DOULA

"Sharon is an excellent instructor. She is thoughtful about the resources she uses and the information she shares and careful to remain evidence-based in her teaching. She is engaging and creative, using a variety of tools to engage all learners. When I attend a training with Sharon I know that she will respect my time and I will come away with new skills that I can use with confidence. Five stars well earned!"

SARAH HADJES, DOULA

"I recently took a TENS training with Sharon and walked away feeling very confident in using this tool to support my clients during labor. Sharon's classes are always full of evidence based information and hands on learning."
